Did you know that the City of Miami, Homestead, Miami Beach, and Hialeah all have local elections this year? Municipal elections typically have lower voter turnout, so our votes count so much more.
Local government officials affect our everyday lives by making important decisions about housing, development, public transportation, and more. We need to turnout in larger numbers in order to make real changes in our local communities. If we don’t vote, our elected officials won’t prioritize our solutions.
Join the movement of young people making a real impact through local organizing and civic engagement. Find your city below and get all the info you need to vote!
City of Miami
This November, residents of the City of Miami will be electing new commissioners for Districts 1, 2, and 4. Almost 1 in 3 registered voters in the City of Miami are Gen Z or millennials, but in 2021, turnout of voters ages 18-35 was only 4.5%! That means if the 60,000 young people in the City turn out to the ballot box, our votes can make a huge impact.
It’s our future, it’s our city, it’s our vote, and it’s our time to show our power and cast our ballots! Check out the dates below for info on how to vote in the municipal election this year.
